Let Me Hunt in the WestThis still life was a commissioned painting for my friend, Ed Martin, who was retiring as the Master of the Hunt. He gave the painting as a gift to the incoming Master, his protégé. It is titled for a poem that his wife wrote about foxhunting in California. Personally, I'm rooting for the fox, but foxhunting certainly is a magnificent visual spectacle, if you don’t happen to be a fox.
