This portrait of a polo player was painted for Ralph Lauren's office in New York City. Through the years, Polo has bought and commissioned a number of paintings for their elaborately decorated flagship stores in New York and Beverly Hills, and has rented paintings to decorate the sets for fashion photo shoots. I’m enormously flattered by their patronage because there’s no one whose clothes and furnishings I’d rather have than Ralph Lauren’s.
