The Martins Courtesy Edward and Betty Martin Mouse over the image for a closeup. My friends the Martins rode to the hounds foxhunting at an age at which more sensible people play shuffleboard! When Ed finally retired as Master of the West Hills Hunt at 72, they decided to commemorate the occasion with a double portrait. The Martins had already sold their horses, so I painted them on their sofa, but with an imaginary foxhunting mural on the wall behind them. The mural is homage to Sir Alfred Munnings, my favorite horse painter.
