Wild Horse SummerWild Horse Summer was painted as a book cover for a girls’ novel of the same name. Jessica, the model, doesn't really ride, so I grafted her head onto the body of my hard-riding buddy and mother of eight, Inger. The chestnut thoroughbred filly in the foreground is a granddaughter of the mighty Alydar, who finished second to Affirmed in all three of the Triple Crown races, but blew past him as a sire. The mountains are the glorious Wasatch range just up the mountain from the Sundance ski resort. |
